“Abraham, the Friend of God” enters Golden Minbar Muslim Film Festival

TEHRAN -- Mohammadreza Varzi’s “Abraham, the Friend of God” is to compete at the 3rd Golden Minbar Muslim Film Festival which runs from September 6 to 12 in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan.
Films from Islamic and non-Islamic countries will be participating in the event.Director Varzi believes that one of the best ways of familiarizing the world with the Holy Quran is through the production of films focusing on Quranic themes.
“The Holy Quran was sent to the Prophet Muhammad (S) for the benefit of all people in the world, and so everyone should become familiar with the contents of this Holy Book,” he told the Persian service of ISNA.
He went on to say that by broadcasting religious-themed movies during the month of Ramazan cinema officials can boost religious culture.
“Abraham, the Friend of God” was broadcast on Iran’s TV channel last Ramazan.
Behzad Farahani, Mohammad Sadeqi, Khosro Farrokhzadi, and Hessam Navvab-Safavi are among the cast
